Once the software has been authorised, this authorisation is valid for 18 months. Occasionally and at least once every 18 months, HMRC may require you to re-authorise the software.
Start the software and open the relevant Business record.
Open the 'VAT Tax Year (Obligations)'
From the menu, select 'Tools' - 'Security' - 'Re-Authorisation'

Retrieve VAT Periods (Obligations)
To ensure you are able to connect to HMRC MTD VAT system, you can also try by retrieving the VAT Payments and VAT Liabilities functions. If there are some issues, HMRC systems will provide an error message that the software will display to you.
