Windows File Block Security Unblock

After downloading a software installer from the internet and attempting to Run or execute the downloaded file to install the software, nothing happens. Windows is not running the file.

Windows may not provide any messages. Occasionally, a security warning is displayed saying that the file originated from somewhere else and can be insecure.

Windows OS may block some type of files downloaded from the internet or files received as an attachment to emails.

This Windows File Block Security feature is preventing you from opening potentially harmful files and installing unwanted applications.

  1. Right click on the downloaded installation file
  2. Select 'Properties' - 'General' Tab
  3. Click 'Unblock' in 'Security: This file came from another computer and might be blocked to help protect this computer.'
  4. Click 'Apply' and 'OK' to close the 'Properties' screen
Thereafter 'Run' the executable to start installation.
(Windows User must have administrative access privileges to install software)
